Things To Do In Venice Beach

Hi guys! Recently, I headed over to Venice Beach for a day of fun in the sun and it was wonderful. Venice Beach is known for its bustling boardwalk and unique, eclectic vibe. It’s definitely a must-see if you’re in the Los Angeles area.

Here are 5 things to do in Venice Beach that will make your trip unforgettable:

1. Lay By The Water

Venice Beach

Venice Beach has gorgeous, soft sand and bright blue water. Despite the fact that its neighbor is Santa Monica Beach, I find that Venice is a bit less crowded. But, of course, the best way to avoid the crowds is to come on a weekday.

2. People-Watch At Muscle Beach

Muscle Beach

Muscle Beach is where some of the fittest people of Venice come to show off their skills (and their muscles). Weights and work out equipment are available to the public and it’s a pretty fascinating scene to watch the bodybuilders doing their thing.

3. Skateboard/ Watch Some Skateboarding

Venice Beach

Right along the sand is a small skatepark where people of all ages can come and practice their skateboarding skills. Similar to Muscle Beach, it’s a great place to people-watch and to put on a show if you’re up for it.

4. Shop On The Boardwalk

Venice Boardwalk

The Venice Boardwalk is lined with quirky shops where you can buy art, clothes, snacks, and all kinds of souvenirs. Plus, buskers and entertainers along the Boardwalk will add a soundtrack to your shopping spree!

5. Walk Along The Venice Canals

Venice Canals

The Venice Canals are man-made canals lined with extravagant homes, bridges, and small boats. The Canals are beautifully lit at night and they’re the perfect spot for a quiet, romantic stroll.

6. Eat And Drink (My Favorite)

Cafe Gratitude

Venice has tons of cool bars and restaurants along the Boardwalk and beyond. My favorite place to grab lunch in Venice is Cafe Gratitude, which is a vegan, plant-based restaurant that’s a 20-minute walk from the beach. If plant-based isn’t your style, Venice Ale House and The Sidewalk Cafe are also two popular spots to eat on the Boardwalk.

I hope this little guide helps you next time you’re in Venice Beach! And, as always, if you have any other great Venice Beach recommendations you can leave them in the comments below.
